QSV Series sound velocity gauges are probably the most cost effective tool for determining cast iron types in the foundry industry. Is it a grey cast iron or a nodular (ductile) cast iron? Answer this question quickly by knowing the thickness of the part and entering it manually, or by using a digital caliper to measure the thickness and automatically enter it in the QSV - like in the descontinued DMV-DL from Krautkramer -. Once you know the thickness, simple couple the transducer to measure sound velocity.

Enter the material thickness manually and measure to obtain the sound velocity. Features 1-step Auto Calibration, a graphic LCD display, a memory that stores up to 5000 readings, and much more.
