Considered the "universal" impact device, it can be used to measure the widest number of metals, hardness units, and hardness ranges

    The DC impact device is identical to a type D, except that the length of the body is half the size. This is ideal for inner tube applications or difficult to access areas.

  Type C

Hardness measurements on small test pieces require that they be coupled (when possible) to a larger part. In order to couple pieces together, an even amount of coupling paste must be applied to both parts. Coupling paste is sold in a 50g / 1.76oz plastic container.
